Teachers are the main elements of any meaningful change in an educational system. Research shows that no system can rise beyond the capabilities of its teachers. Educational administrators and leaders are the backbone of any change.

Most of the governments in the Middle East have come to the realization that the success of its current long-term strategic plan is conditional upon high performing teachers and effective school leaders. The current proposal aims at enhancing educational reform in the Gulf area through the adoption of an innovative approach to the professional development of educators. Therefore, it is suggested that we upgrade teachers’ professional skills in relation to the Teaching Standards in England.

Familiarising the teachers in the Middle East area with England’s Professional Teaching Standards will provide a structured approach to improving the teaching profession, and also open vast possibilities for the improvement of education. CETK focuses on teachers’ development as a crucial first step to effective education and schooling system.
